Under the patronage of the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB), the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) recently celebrated the graduation of its Professional Certifications in the Leadership and Management Centre in collaboration with Tamkeen, which was held at The Diplomat Radisson BLU Hotel. The graduation ceremony was attended by Dr. Abdullah Al Sada from Tamkeen and Dr. Huda Al Maskati from the CBB as well as other executive officials form the banking sector.
Commenting on the occasion, Dr Abdullah Al-Sada the Acting Director Marketing Communications, and Senior Manager Government Liaison in Tamkeen, said: “Tamkeen works continuously to create a supportive environment for Bahrainis and equip them with all the needed tools to better cater to the labour market’s needs in order for them to become the employees of choice, and enhance the quality of their lives.”
He also added “partnering with BIBF is part of these collective efforts that contribute towards the overall growth and development of the private sector in the Kingdom through training the Bahraini youth in the field of leadership and management.”
The BIBF’s Director, Solveig Nicklos, addressed the graduates and applauded them on their hard work, resilience and continuous effort in improving their professional careers. In addition, she emphasized on the importance of pursuing further education such as professional qualifications to enhance Bahrain’s economic growth and coincide with the vision for 2030. Moreover, she stated: “Our commitment to human capital development and its strong ties with Tamkeen serves as a continuation of its legacy. The BIBF recognises the significance of Tamkeen’s Professional Certification Support programmes as a tool to empower Bahrainis and qualify them for important functional and support roles. The BIBF continues to be a centre of excellence within the training industry. Being a pioneer in quality education and providing excellence in many fields such as Marketing, Sales and PR, Human Resources, Business Communication, Leadership and Management in addition to other fields of expertise such as Islamic Finance, Project Management, IT, Insurance, Banking and Accounting. Our affiliations with International Awarding bodies are a testament to the international trust towards the BIBF. On this occasion, Kadri Rizk, head of Leadership and Management centre, stated “The BIBf’s aims to enhance the human capital qualifications with specialised, professional programmes significantly contributed to the reduction of the skills gap between practitioners and the needs of the labour market. This enhanced productivity would strengthen sustainability measures and increase the effectiveness of the local workforce. The BIBF has strategically collaborated with International bodies in the field for over a decade and is an accredited international learning centre for leadership and management, offering a variety of different professional programmes”.
The professional qualifications offered by the BIBF are fully supported by Tamkeen and are a part of their combined objective of empowering local Bahrainis by creating opportunities in their further development.
A total of more than 200 students in the past two years 2015 have successfully completed their programmes, receiving a variety of globally accredited certifications in the fields of Marketing, Management and Human Resources. These programmes are offered by Internationally recognized institutions which partnered with the BIBF to offer qualifications such as the Diploma in Management & Leadership from the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), Certificate and Diploma programmes in Human Resources Practice and Human Resources Management from the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), and Certificate and Diploma programmes in Marketing from the Chartered Marketing Institute (CIM), all of which are from the UK.
