Qatar University Launches Fifth National CSR Report

Under the patronage of HE Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Abdulla bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, Qatar University (QU) yesterday hosted the ceremony to launch the fifth edition of the National CSR Report.During the ceremony, HE Minister of Culture and Sports Salah bin Ghanim Al Ali, was honored as CSR Person of the Year 2016 in recognition of his significant role in supporting CSR and for being a role model in inspiring the youth of Qatar.

HE the Minister expressed his gratitude to QU for choosing him as CSR Person of the Year 2016, referring the university’s role in qualifying and training national personnel who hold the responsibility of development.HE Salah bin Ghanim Al Ali said, “QU is a leading institution in Qatar and the region. The organization plays a pivotal role in enhancing the students’ culture and spirit of teamwork. QU stands as the top supplier of graduates to the labor market. Its graduates are equipped with the necessary skills, competencies and mindset that ease their transition into the workplace.” QU President Dr Hassan Al Derham said “QU is proud to launch the fifth edition of the National CSR Report. I would like to thank QU College of Business and Economics for its contribution in this report. Over the years, the report saw a significant improvement and gained momentum through the contributions of various institutions from the public and the private sector. QU has always been guided by social responsibility to advance its students’ knowledge and build their capabilities.” The report, which is issued by QU in partnership with Qatar CSR Network, will be distributed to all Qatari embassies around the world through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the distribution partner. Qatar Media Corporation is the Media Partner.

It also included for the first time an exhibition of 21 booths where visitors and students got acquainted with representatives of the public and private sectors and got insight into the various experiences of leaders in the business industry. (QNA)
