The Scout and Guide Association of Qatar participated in a workshop on the GCC joint scout action strategy in Kuwait. Representatives of scout associations in the Gulf Cooperation Council took part in the workshop.
The workshop discussed a number of topics on the joint five-year strategy (2017-2021), such as the concepts of strategic planning, the mechanism of preparing the strategic project, and defining the vision, mission and values for the next strategy.
It also discussed the mechanism for designing the strategic performance indicators and the strategic plans, the development of initiatives and activities, the operational performance indicators and the follow-up and evaluation of strategic plans. Each scout association is scheduled to examine this unified strategy for adoption as early as this year.
The workshop was organized in accordance with the decision of the heads of scout societies of the Gulf Cooperation Council at the 28th meeting, held in Riyadh last January, to develop a five-year strategic plan for joint Gulf scout work in accordance with the vision of the GCC General Secretariat.
